5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths

Trust is defined as: firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something. 2. confidence placed in a person by making that person the nominal owner of property to be held or used for the benefit of one or more others.

As I ponder on the above words and the definition of "trust" it tells me that I am to have a firm belief in the reliability of my Lord. After all Lord by Greek definition means 2962 kýrios – properly, a person exercising absolute ownership rights). with all thine heart....stop for a minute! Heart? Is this the same heart according to Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it"? Is this the same heart that is spoken of in Mark 7:20-23 (KJV)
20 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.
21 For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
22 Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

This is not the "heart" that we are to trust God with; because we cannot! Something must happen within our hearts. There must be a purifying and a burning up of all things that are contrary to the word of God. Unfortunately, but fortunately, this happens through trials and tribulations.
1 Peter 4:12-16 (MSG)
12 Friends, when life gets really difficult, don't jump to
the conclusion that God isn't on the job.
Instead, be glad that you are in the very thick of what Christ
experienced. This is a spiritual refining process, with glory just around the
14 If you're abused
because of Christ, count yourself fortunate. It's the Spirit of God and his
glory in you that brought you to the notice of others.
15 If they're on you because you broke the law or
disturbed the peace, that's a different matter.
16 But if it's because you're a Christian, don't give it a
second thought. Be proud of the distinguished status reflected in that name!

As the above scripture says when trials & tribulations come; be glad! Most times, it is a spiritual refining process and there is nothing you can do to stop the hand of God when this happens. However, there may be times when poor choices are made and your trial maybe a circumstance of a poor decision that was made. Even in that, His mercies are created new every second of the day. Repent, go and sin no more.

<![CDATA[Your Life Is But A Vapor]]>Sat, 28 Jun 2014 21:19:15 GMThttp://getrealgyrl.weebly.com/blog/your-life-is-but-a-vapor1James 4:14-17 (GW)
14 You don't know what will happen tomorrow. What is life? You are a mist that is seen for a moment and then disappears. 15 Instead, you should say, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and carry out our plans.” 16 However, you brag because you're arrogant. All such bragging is evil. 17 Whoever knows what is right but doesn't do it is sinning.
I initially was going to write about "life" being a vapor and as I continued reading; the scripture took my thoughts in an entirely different direction. Truth be told; a Christians life is not his own! He belongs to God to bring forth His purpose in the earth realm. A Christian's life was paid for with the Blood of Jesus; therefore, my life, your life was ransomed!
Matthew 20:28 (AMP) 28 Just as the Son of Man came not to be waited on but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [the price paid to set them free]. Let's make this practical. Let's say that your child is in jail and in order for him/her to be released; bail is set. As the parent; you expect the child to get his/her act together until court. You pay the bail and wait for sentencing. Sentencing comes and the punishment is so harsh; you say - I cannot allow my child to do that amount of time - he/she has their entire life ahead - so let's make a deal - I will take the punishment, even though my child committed the crime! The judge agrees and your child is set free! Imagine years later how the parent would feel if the child is still living foolishly and being disobedient! It would hurt, it would literally crush the parent; but out of love - the parent sacrificed his freedom for his child. WOW! This is what Jesus did on the Cross. He loved us so much; that he became sin, so that we may become the righteousness of God. When The Father looks at us; He doesn't see us, He sees the Blood of Jesus! So imagine how Jesus feels knowing that some of us is taking His sacrifice for granted? some of us are abusing His Grace, some of us take the very breath that we breathe for granted, not realizing that God is the Source of Life and at any moment; He can take it; and just like a vapor - you disappear; never to exist again! So let me ask you a question? What will your 'vapor' leave in the air? will it cause a stench when your name is mentioned? or will it be a sweet aroma and cause people to smile? Will your 'vapor' leave behind a legacy or will your 'vapor' leave nothing?

<![CDATA[Die Flesh Die!]]>Mon, 23 Jun 2014 20:57:39 GMThttp://getrealgyrl.weebly.com/blog/die-flesh-dieLet's just get right to the point, this flesh is hard to kill! We are in a daily battle! Let me take a second to teach you for a minute. The Flesh defined in Strong's Greek Concordance:4561 (sarks) is generally negative, referring to making decisions (actions) according to self – i.e. done apart from faith (independent from God's inworking). Thus what is "of the flesh (carnal)" is by definition displeasing to the Lord – even things that seem "respectable!" In short, flesh generally relates to unaided human effort, i.e. decisions (actions) that originate from self or are empowered by self. This is carnal ("of the flesh") and proceeds out of the untouched (unchanged) part of us – i.e. what is not transformed by God.
It is safe to draw from this definition that "the flesh" doesn't contribute to your spiritual growth. Therefore as "believers" we are to choose to crucify "the flesh" daily. If not, we would never get anything done! "the flesh" will tell you to "take a break' "the flesh" will tell you that you have done enough, let somebody else do it" "the flesh" will tell you to go ahead and eat that piece of chocolate cake....again! "the flesh" will tell you to cuss out your husband/wife, "the flesh" will cause you to justify wrong behaviors, immoral living, wrong mindsets, and wrong attitudes. "The flesh" will also rise up and tell you that the visions, dreams, and aspirations will never happen and that you are to stupid and/or to dumb to even believe that they will. It is time to tell your flesh to DIE!!! Don't think that "the flesh" will die easy! After all; "the flesh" knows you all to well - it has been with you all of your life and knows your weaknesses. "The flesh" is carnal in nature. This is why The Bible says that a carnal mind is enmity against God (Romans 8:7). So you ask what is the solution? I am glad you asked! Remember the definition above said that "the flesh" was 'what was not transformed by God? Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God
As you continue doing this daily; this will help you walk "in the spirit" and not pursue "the works of the flesh" My favorite scripture is Galatians 2:20 (KJV)
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. However, this must start with a RENEWED MIND! You must choose to renew your mind daily with The Word of God and as you continue to replace your thoughts with God's thoughts; your flesh will slowly be crucified and one day you realize that the the 'things' you used to do, you don't do anymore, the attitude you used to have, you don't have any more, the chocolate cake you used to eat.....well....you may not eat it everyday! If this blog has been a blessing, please share your comments with me and others.

<![CDATA[The Light Within]]>Thu, 19 Jun 2014 15:32:07 GMThttp://getrealgyrl.weebly.com/blog/the-light-withinMatthew 5:14 (AMP)
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
I come to you today and say LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE! Notice that Jesus does not say that "I think that you are a light or maybe you are a light" No, He says that you are the light of the world. Notice that Jesus uses the definite article "the" before "light" which indicates a definite position as opposed to indefinite; so therefore Jesus is making a declaration that YOU, yes YOU are the light of the world! The problem that occurs is when you allow the issues of life to cause your light to become dim. You have to have a made up mind and a fixed mind that whatever life throws you, it does not negate who Jesus declares that you are! It is time to Get Real and break off the chains of life that is trying to snuff your light, dim your light, and darken your light. Let the Greatness that is deposited on the inside of you ARISE & SHINE!

<![CDATA[He Is Faithful, Even When We Are Not!]]>Tue, 17 Jun 2014 15:35:41 GMThttp://getrealgyrl.weebly.com/blog/he-is-faithful-even-when-we-are-notJeremiah 29:10-14 (AMP)
10 For thus says the Lord, When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you and keep My good promise to you, causing you to return to this place.
11 For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
12 Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.
13 Then you will seek Me, inquire for, and require Me [as a vital necessity] and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
14 I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive.

So often Jeremiah 29:11 is used without it being in its proper context. The scripture actually says that when the seventy years are complete, God will keep HIs promise and restore what was lost due to Israel's disobedience! This scripture is talking to the Israelite's while they ARE IN CAPTIVITY. God is saying "I know the plans that I promised and because I am not a Man that I shall lie, nor the Son of Man that I shall repent, the promises are yours after you are released from captivity! THEN which means after you have suffered which is the consequences due to your disobedience, THEN you will call upon Me and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you. Aren't you glad we serve a God that is Faithful even when we mess up? Aren't you glad we serve a God who is Faithful, even when we are faithless? Even though God is Faithful and the Promise remains; do we take grace for granted and continue to disobey? Do we unknowingly delay our destiny due to disobedience? Has God asked you to do something and you keep putting it off? The moral to this passage: "He is Faithful to His Word; However, Your Destiny may be delayed due to your Disobedience"

Ok, let's define 'clutter'. Clutter is stuff that has piled up, including stuff that you want to keep & stuff you need to get rid of. Just as it is in the natural, so is it in the spiritual. Your soul, which consists of your mind, will, & emotions need to regularly detox.. You need to consistently rid the pains & offenses of life instead of letting them pile up layer upon layer.. When this happens; we have cluttered souls. As a result, our 'authentic' self becomes buried under the 'clutter' of betrayal, doubt, rejection, offense, just to name a few and our everyday lives will reflect it in some type of way. One of the most obvious ways to tell if your soul is cluttered is your personal space. A soul that is cluttered "personal space" will be chaotic & scattered to say the least. Nothing is in place and when attempted to put in order; frustration comes in because you don't know where to put it, you can't decide if you should keep it or trash it, and then you get mad and you quit - let the sick cycle begin! This is a serious concern because a cluttered soul has no control of his/her destiny, robs you of your joy and steals your peace. The old folks have a saying that Jesus wont put no more on you then you can bare and that is correct! He doesn't; but life does. . Your body was never designed to carry "junk" The Bible says in Psalms 55:22 "Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken."
Today, why not start to de-clutter your soul? The Bible says that Jesus Christ died so that we may have life and life more abundantly. Forgive that person that wronged you even if you were right. Let the divorce go. Let the guilt & shame go. Let the pride go. Be the bigger person and know that when you finally let go, you will have peace that surpasses understanding. Your soul will no longer be buried and you will began to breathe again. You will begin to live again. Your soul will began to become decluttered. Today is the day to Get Real Gyrl!]]>
